The future of money: the end of cash?

In almost everyone, with a few exceptions, monetary transactions are increasingly digital. While bills and coins remain popular in many countries and regions of the world, including the United States, Japan, Germany, Argentina and Latin America in general, in others, such as China, India, Sweden or Switzerland, they are close of being obsolete It is common to find business ads free of physical or cashless money in those countries. Some examples: more than 95% of the Swedish population uses only the Swish application to pay for all kinds of things (even chewing gum), and economists in the country estimate that by 2023 physical money may not be accepted for any transaction. In 2016, in Spain and England, for the first time, more digital payments than physical payments were made.
